If you have already purchased "DECTALK READER 1" from Enable Rehab, you may have noticed that you didn't get what you paid for. You thought you were buying "Dectalk Reader 1", but it installed as Dectalk 4.61, didn't sing, had no instructions for the Speak Window that could sing, and offered no support. Being that both Blake Roberts and me, Snoopi Botten, were part of that project, we would like to apologize. Blake quite and I was fired before that trash was released. However, even after I was fired, my name was still attached to that project just because I have worked with Dectalk since 1989. So I'm trying to get the word out so no one buys Dectalk from Enable Rehab.
Blake and I left the company with a beta Dectalk SAPI that can sing. It was never released because Corine Bickley decided to remove the singing feature and simply say she didn't have the source code to make it sing. This is not fair to those of us who enjoy making it sing.
Blake and I have decided to release the beta Dectalk SAPI for free and support it the best we can. We are not charging because we feel Enable Rehab has ruined the fine work and reputation of Dennis Klatt, and all we want to do is restore his work the best we can.
